This experiential Gestalt workshop invites participants to explore the richness of the present moment through creative use of cushions as tools for self-awareness, dialogue, and transformation. Rooted in Gestalt therapy principles, the workshop focuses on bringing internal processes into the “here and now” using simple but powerful experiments by Lawrence Capon.
Participants will be guided to work with cushions as representations of people, parts of the self, or unresolved issues. Through facilitated exercises, individuals will engage in dialogues by moving between cushions—speaking to, from, and about them—to explore inner conflicts, emotional patterns, and relational dynamics. This embodied approach helps shift abstract thoughts into direct, felt experience.
Rather than interpreting or analysing, the process emphasises awareness of what emerges moment by moment. Questions like “What are you aware of now?” or “What do you feel as you sit in this cushion’s place?” help ground the work in bodily sensations and emotional truth.
Open to anyone interested in personal growth, therapeutic exploration, or Gestalt methods, this workshop offers a supportive space to experiment, express, and discover. No prior experience with Gestalt is necessary—just a willingness to be present, curious, and engaged. Recommendation that you are on a Level 4 counselling course before undertaking.
