LEVEL 4 Diploma – Humanistic Counselling

This is a two-year Diploma in Humanistic Counselling grounded in CPCAB’s practitioner development and therapeutic change model, utilising Humanistic theories as the core theoretical framework.

The Humanistic tradition is underpinned by the philosophies of Existentialism and Phenomenology.

You will be introduced to the rationale and theory behind Humanistic counselling, with reference to well-known writers in the field, some of whom you may meet as guest speakers in our additional workshops

You will explore Person-Centred, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis , Attachment theory and working with the arts, including sand tray and clay therapy

You’ll gain experience as a counsellor through completing a placement within an agency setting. Under Supervision, you will be required to attain 100 client hours.

​The course also requires a minimum of 40 hours of personal counselling over the two years.​

​In the second year, you will also be be introduced to short-term and solution-focused therapies, including Neuro Linguistic Programming (N.L.P.) 

​Throughout the program, you’ll explore key topics such as identity, diversity, mental health, depression, anxiety, loss and grieving, addictions, co-dependency, and eating disorders.

  • Time dedicated to coursework
  • Allocate at least 3 hours outside of class time each week for the Weekly Learning Review and related assignments
  • 40 hours of personal counselling over the 2 years

Assessment

  • Your progress will be assessed through an internal evaluation of your portfolio by your tutor, ensuring all assessment criteria are met
  • Successfully completing this course, you will receive a Diploma in Humanistic Counselling.
  • You will also qualify for entry for Level 5 courses

Fees

  • Cost of the course is £6900 for two years
  • Breakdown of fees is £3450 each year, which does include your CPCAB registration fee, breakdown below:
