DESCRIPTION:The Counselling Assessment Workshop is designed to provide mental health professionals with the essential skills and techniques required for conducting effective client assessments in a counselling setting. This workshop focuses on the initial stages of the therapeutic process\, where establishing rapport\, gathering relevant client information\, and identifying core issues are crucial for successful intervention. Participants will learn how to build trust and create a safe\, non-judgmental environment that encourages clients to openly share their concerns. The workshop also covers various assessment tools and techniques\, such as structured interviews\, questionnaires\, and observational methods\, to help evaluate a client’s needs and mental health status. Additionally\, the workshop explores case formulation\, teaching participants how to synthesize assessment data into a comprehensive understanding of the client’s situation\, taking into account factors such as family dynamics\, socio-economic background\, and personal history. Ethical and cultural considerations are also highlighted\, emphasizing the importance of cultural competence and ethical decision-making to ensure clients are treated with respect and empathy. This workshop is suitable for both new and experienced counsellors looking to enhance their assessment skills and improve the quality of care they provide to clients. \nThe workshop will be running over 2 weekends from 10:00 AM till 4:00 PM.
