The Clients Affected by Suicide Workshop is designed to help mental health professionals develop the skills and sensitivity needed to support individuals who have been impacted by suicide, whether through their own experiences or the loss of a loved one. This workshop covers the complex emotions and psychological challenges faced by clients affected by suicide, including grief, guilt, trauma, and feelings of isolation. Emphasis will be placed on creating a safe, empathetic environment where clients can express their emotions, process their grief, and work through feelings of shame or unresolved trauma. The workshop will also address the unique needs of individuals at different stages of the grieving process and offer strategies for working with both those who are suicidal and those who are mourning a loss. In addition, participants will learn how to assess suicide risk, recognise warning signs, and effectively manage crises, while understanding the importance of self-care and professional boundaries when working with such emotionally charged cases.
